Connell Foley has named Alexa Salcito Co-Chair of its Labor & Employment Law Group, the Roseland-based firm announced Monday.
Salcito joins Michael Shadiack, the group’s longtime leader. She will oversee the employment litigation practice, directing strategy, staffing and case management. Shadiack will continue to lead the group’s counseling, compliance, training and advisory services and will keep defending clients in litigation.
The firm said the move is meant to support the group’s growth and tie its counseling and litigation work more closely together. The group represents employers in workplace disputes and advises them on personnel matters, compliance, policies, training and risk management.
Connell Foley Managing Partner Tim Corriston said the pairing plays to both lawyers’ strengths.
“Mike’s longstanding leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Labor & Employment Law Group,” he said. “Alexa brings a strong litigation perspective that complements his experience and positions the team to deliver seamless, strategic counsel across the full range of workplace matters.”
Shadiack credited the group’s attorneys.
“Our attorneys’ dedication to the team and client service has made the group what it is today,” he said. “I look forward to leading the group alongside Alexa as we help employers meet evolving needs.”
Salcito joined Connell Foley in 2022 and was made partner earlier this year. She handles employment cases from pre-suit strategy and discovery through motions and trial preparation.
She said she is looking forward to the new role.
“I’m honored to help lead the group into its next chapter,” she said. “By combining practical counsel with decisive litigation strategy and trial readiness, we will help employers navigate an increasingly complex workplace.”
Before joining the firm, Salcito worked at a litigation boutique in New Jersey. She also clerked for Judge Heidi Willis Currier of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court. She earned her law degree at Seton Hall University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree at Lafayette College.
