M&M International, an Edison-based precision-engineered stainless-steel tubing manufacturer backed by Gainline Capital Partners, has announced plans to open a brand-new manufacturing plant in the Greenpark free-trade zone in Coyol, Costa Rica.
Currently under construction and slated to open in the first quarter of 2027, the facility marks a major milestone in the company’s multi-year global expansion strategy. The plant is designed to bring M&M’s manufacturing footprint closer to its core medical device and high-tech customers across the United States and Latin America.
“Opening our third manufacturing facility increases our agility and ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers around the world,” Jeff Robertson, CEO of M&M said. “We’re pairing over three decades of manufacturing expertise with the talented workforce we will be hiring in Costa Rica.”
Phase one of the project will span 40,000 square feet, focusing heavily on the production of small-diameter stainless steel medical tubing. These specialized metal components serve as critical lifelines for:
- Catheters
- Surgical needles
- Medical robotics
- Advanced surgical instruments
According to company leadership, the facility is engineered to support a wide array of specialized alloys, complex manufacturing processes, and technical support requirements. Furthermore, the site’s layout allows the physical plant to nearly double in size as demand grows.
The upcoming Costa Rica facility follows closely on the heels of M&M’s strategic acquisition of South Korean stainless-steel tubing manufacturer KC Tech in June. Founded 33 years ago, M&M specializes in high-precision 300 series, Inconel 625, and 17-7 metal alloy tubing, maintaining a reputation for stringent quality control in demanding global markets.
