Members of the Central New Jersey Commercial Real Estate (CNJCRE) networking community recently traded blueprints and boardrooms for shovels and mulch, dedicating a service day to refresh the outdoor patio and activity space at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County’s Red Bank Clubhouse just in time for summer camp.
Founded by Doug Twyman, senior managing director of Colliers, CNJCRE brings together a diverse cross-section of the region’s industry professionals—including developers, architects, attorneys, brokers, lenders, contractors, and environmental consultants. The team spent the day clearing overgrowth, weeding, planting, and refreshing the facility’s outdoor areas to give local children a safe, vibrant space for recreation and learning.
The volunteer effort was coordinated with the help of Adam Taylor, president & CEO of Splendor and newly elected president of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, who is also an active CNJCRE member.
“Commercial real estate is ultimately about building stronger communities,” Taylor said. “On this day, our industry wasn’t focused on buildings or transactions. We were focused on creating a better environment for local children.”
Daniel Rivera, chief operating officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs, noted that the community support allows staff to direct their time and resources where they matter most: delivering vital educational, recreational, and youth development programming. Serving over 1,800 young people annually through locations in Asbury Park, Long Branch, Neptune, and Red Bank, the organization provides after-school care, summer camps, academic support, and mentoring.
The service day comes at a time of significant economic momentum for Monmouth County, driven by growing interest from businesses and major regional initiatives like Netflix’s upcoming production campus at Fort Monmouth. As the local landscape evolves, CNJCRE’s initiative highlights the commercial real estate sector’s commitment to ensuring that regional growth directly benefits local families and children.
