Dan Grant of ENV Architects named new co-chair of ULI Northern New Jersey

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) Northern New Jersey has announced a new chapter in its leadership, appointing Dan Grant, executive director of ENV Architects, as the organization’s new District Council Co-Chair, effective July 1.

Dan Johnson

Grant joins current Co-Chair Dan Johnson, senior account director at Violet PR, to lead the council in advancing its mission of fostering responsible land use and shaping the built environment across the region. He succeeds Elizabeth Limbrick, director of Brownfields & Sustainable Systems at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), whose two-year tenure was marked by significant organizational growth and member engagement.

Building on a foundation of growth

Limbrick’s leadership from 2024–2026 was instrumental in strengthening the District Council’s presence. Under her guidance, the council expanded its educational programming, formalized its governance, and launched new initiatives such as the annual Golf Outing.

“Serving as Co-Chair… has been a tremendous privilege and one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Limbrick said. “I am confident that Dan Johnson and Dan Grant will continue building on this strong foundation and guide ULI Northern New Jersey into an even more impactful future.”

The new leadership duo brings a blend of expertise in architecture, communications, development, and planning. As co-chairs, Grant and Johnson aim to leverage their respective backgrounds to cultivate the next generation of industry professionals and deepen the council’s influence throughout the state.

“As New Jersey continues to evolve, ULI has an important role in bringing together the people, ideas, and perspectives that shape stronger communities,” Grant said. “I look forward to working alongside Dan Johnson… to expand educational programming, foster meaningful collaboration, and create opportunities for members at every stage of their careers.”

Johnson expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that the council remains focused on maintaining its momentum. “I look forward to working alongside Dan Grant and our outstanding Advisory Board to build on our momentum, expand ULI’s impact, and continue creating meaningful opportunities for our members to learn, connect, and lead,” Johnson added.
