Purity Water accelerates New Jersey franchise expansion with five new retail leases

Purity Water, the rapidly growing health-and-wellness water brand, is significantly expanding its footprint across New Jersey. Working in collaboration with JLL, the company secured five new retail lease agreements, positioning the brand within high-traffic, grocery-anchored shopping centers in northern and central New Jersey.

Founded in Rockaway in 2022 by Christi Tomimbang and Peter Pena, Purity Water aims to increase access to premium purified and alkaline water while curbing the environmental impact of single-use plastic bottles. The expansion marks a major milestone in the company’s franchising initiative, which launched last year.

To ensure optimal visibility and consumer accessibility, Purity Water has partnered with JLL Managing Director David Townes and Vice President Alana Friedman to identify prime retail real estate. The five newly secured locations include:

  • Hackensack: 2,000 square feet at 375-417 Route 17 South.
  • West Orange: 1,267 square feet at Essex Green Shopping Center, 495 Prospect Ave.
  • Bedminster: 1,000 square feet at The Hills Village, 550 Hills Dr.
  • Berkeley Heights: 1,200 square feet at Berkeley Heights Shopping Center, 404 Springfield Ave.
  • Middletown: 1,003 square feet at Middletown Plaza, 1425 Route 35.

The brand’s expansion aligns with broader market trends identified in JLL’s Global Consumer Experience report, which notes a surging preference for retail destinations that blend health, wellness, and everyday convenience.

“Purity Water has created a concept that feels incredibly timely,” Townes said. “Consumers are increasingly focused on health and convenience, and [the brand] delivers both in an approachable neighborhood retail format.”

For the co-founders, these locations are essential to the brand’s long-term mission. “Finding highly visible retail locations in strong community shopping centers is critical to our success,” Tomimbang said. “JLL has been an invaluable partner in helping us strategically grow the brand and establish a larger footprint throughout New Jersey.”

As the brand continues its growth, Pena noted that Purity Water is actively seeking entrepreneurs interested in business models that prioritize profitability, community impact, and sustainability.
