Northstar Enterprise + Defense eyes Atlantic City for regional expansion

As demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and secure digital networks accelerates nationwide, New Jersey’s technology and defense horizons may soon get a major boost.

Northstar Enterprise + Defense, a leading developer of next-generation modular data centers (MDCs) and a subsidiary of Northstar Technologies Group, Inc. (NTGI), announced that it is actively evaluating the greater Atlantic City area as part of a broader strategy for regional expansion in the Northeast.

The announcement comes on the heels of the company’s major headquarters expansion in Fort Myers, Florida, where Northstar opened a new 153,000-square-foot production campus—marking a nearly 265% increase over its previous manufacturing footprint. Driven by surging interest in edge AI, telecommunications, and defense infrastructure, NTGI is forecasting an astronomical leap in recognized revenue to $450 million for 2026, up from $11.5 million in 2025, with committed sales projected to hit $1.3 billion this year.

While the company scales its operations in Southwest Florida, executive leadership has outlined plans for further U.S. expansion over the next year, specifically eyeing Texas and the Northeast—with Atlantic City highlighted as a prime target area.

A potential facility in South Jersey would position the company closer to major mid-Atlantic enterprise markets, defense installations, and telecommunications hubs, allowing for faster deployment of critical digital infrastructure.

“Today’s data center demands require a different approach to how infrastructure is designed, built and deployed,” Paul Inglese, CEO of NTGI said. “Our MDCs use our advanced composite material to deliver unique benefits over traditional building materials such as concrete and steel. Combined with a modular design, we’re able to provide a more adaptable approach to building and scaling critical infrastructure.”

Unlike traditional brick-and-mortar data centers that rely heavily on concrete and steel, Northstar’s MDCs utilize patented fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite building systems made from 100% U.S.-made recyclable glass.

Adapted from aerospace-grade structural materials, the company’s modular units are engineered for high-performance and demanding environments, offering distinct advantages for potential deployment in New Jersey and beyond:

  • Rapid Deployment: Units can be fully installed and operational in as little as 90 days.
  • Extreme Weather Resilience: Enclosures feature F5 tornado and Category 5 hurricane-rated structural integrity, along with corrosion-resistant and low-maintenance construction ideal for coastal environments.
  • Lightweight Flexibility: The units are up to 30% lighter than aluminum structures, enabling placement in unconventional spaces such as commercial rooftops or sites lacking traditional foundations.
  • Sustainability: Designed for net-zero carbon manufacturing and complete recyclability, significantly reducing embodied emissions compared to conventional building approaches.

Northstar Enterprise + Defense is advancing its platform through high-profile strategic collaborations with major tech, defense, and industrial leaders, including Leidos, Dell Federal, Eaton, Owens Corning, Carahsoft, Duos Edge AI, Bridgepointe Technologies, 10X Capital, and Netceed.

As the company weighs its next phase of national growth, a potential footprint in the Atlantic City area could bring advanced manufacturing capabilities, high-tech engineering jobs, and state-of-the-art AI infrastructure development to South Jersey’s expanding technology landscape.
