Thomas Edison State University (TESU) has been selected for the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) 2025 Transfer Honor Roll, marking the second consecutive year the institution has received the recognition. This honor places TESU among a select group of 251 four-year colleges and universities nationwide that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to creating seamless pathways for community college transfer students.
The Transfer Honor Roll is based on an evaluation of 40 key metrics, including college costs, financial aid, admissions practices, and bachelor’s degree completion rates. The data is sourced from the National Student Clearinghouse and institutions’ PTK Connect profiles to identify the top 25% of colleges that are considered “transfer friendly.”
“This recognition for the second consecutive year underscores TESU’s unwavering commitment to ensuring transfer students feel supported from the moment they connect with us to the day they graduate,” Juliette Punchello, senior director of Recruitment and Enrollment Management, said. She noted that TESU’s mission is to provide clear, affordable, and accessible pathways for students to reach their academic goals.
According to PTK, this year’s honorees have shown strong results, including an average bachelor’s degree completion rate of 75% among transfer students and an average of 81% of transfer credits applied toward a degree. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, PTK President and CEO, praised the recognized colleges for going “above and beyond to create accessible pathways” for community college students.
