Beneficial Holdings, Inc. an infrastructure developer headquartered in Newark, has successfully executed a Master Service Agreement (MSA) with Star Charge Americas Corp. for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects across the United States and Puerto Rico.
The MSA encompasses projects totaling over 32.24 GWh with a contract value exceeding $3.2 billion. The partnership is aimed at delivering grid-scale energy solutions critical for alleviating electric grid congestion and promoting business growth in high-demand areas.
Greg Senkevitch, CEO of Beneficial Holdings, emphasized the strategic importance of the deal for its New Jersey-based operations. “Star Charge Americas is a critical partner as we accessed non Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) partnerships to maximize the investment tax credits (ITC) for our grid scale projects,” Senkevitch said.
The companies formalized the agreement with a signing ceremony held in New Jersey, underscoring the state’s role in advancing national energy infrastructure.
Redefining energy management for data centers
The implications of this landmark collaboration extend directly to the rapidly growing data center industry, which requires versatile and reliable energy solutions.
Andreas Fornwald, Chief Development Officer at Star Charge Americas, noted that the deal “signals a monumental shift in the U.S. energy storage industry, particularly as it relates to the burgeoning demand for data centers.”
Star Charge, a global leader in BESS and EV charging, will supply its advanced energy storage systems, which are designed to:
- Ensure Cost-Effectiveness: Providing solutions that enable significant cost savings.
- Enhance Reliability: Offering robustness for non-negotiable data center uptime.
- Facilitate Swift Recovery: Including solutions that allow for easier black starts to minimize disruption from power blackouts.
The Newark-based Beneficial Holdings, an integrator of technology and solutions, focuses on infrastructure development, including stand-alone battery storage and powered land projects. This partnership is poised to establish Star Charge as a premier supplier in the U.S. data center boom and support the move toward a balanced, sustainable energy mix that integrates traditional and renewable resources.
