Podcast: ‘Legends of America’ launches with best-selling author Harlan Coben, aims to inspire optimism and purpose

A new podcast, “Legends of America,” has launched with a mission to counteract negativity and inspire children and adults to realize their “highest and best sense of self for the greater good.”

The inaugural episode features an interview with Livingston, New Jersey native Harlan Coben, the #1 New York Times bestselling author who has sold 90 million books and executive produced several Netflix television dramas.

The host, who was not named in the announcement, acknowledged the saturated podcast market but stressed the critical need for a positive voice in today’s environment.

“Now more than ever our children need heroes and wisdom to find or affirm their purpose in life, and to rise above the 21st century challenges we’re confronted with,” the host stated.

Citing the late physicist Stephen Hawking’s warning about existential threats—from AI and nuclear issues to the environment—the podcast aims to inspire the “next Einstein” to overcome these global challenges.

The host expressed personal frustration with the current negative and polarized environment, declaring a commitment to be “a part of a movement toward hope and optimism.”

The podcast plans to release a new interview every two weeks. Each segment will feature inspiring Americans who have “blazed their own paths and have reached the pinnacle of their respective professions.”

The host encouraged listeners to tune in, saying, “I hope you enjoy ‘Legends of America.’ There’s something for everyone in each podcast interview!”
