Kearny Bank Foundation delivers $20K in grants to enhance residential care for individuals with disabilities

The Kearny Bank Foundation has awarded grants totaling nearly $20,000 to two New Jersey nonprofits, Our House Foundation and Youth Consultation Services (YCS), providing crucial support for residential care enhancements for individuals with developmental disabilities. The 2025 funding is specifically earmarked for projects designed to boost the comfort and overall quality of life for the residents they serve.

Our House Foundation received a $10,000 grant dedicated to urgent renovations at its group home in Plainfield. The support from Kearny Bank will fund necessary updates to the kitchen and flooring, essential exterior repairs, and new furniture, aiming to provide residents with a safer and more pleasant environment.

Youth Consultation Services (YCS) was granted $9,685 for its Pearl Street Forever Home, a residence serving adult women with developmental disabilities, autism, and complex medical needs. This funding will be used to refresh shared living spaces, making the home more welcoming and functional. Planned upgrades include new painting, updated seating and décor, a dedicated table and activity area, new exercise equipment tailored to residents’ abilities, and improvements to rooms used for therapy sessions and clinical visits.

Taryn Rockwell, Executive Director of the KearnyBank Foundation, emphasized the bank’s commitment to organizations that make a significant local impact. “Youth Consultation Services and Our House Foundation provide crucial supports to improve the daily lives of individuals with various disabilities,” Rockwell stated. “We’re grateful to be able to provide this support and are deeply committed to partnering with organizations that make a positive difference in communities where we conduct business.”

Since 2020, the KearnyBank Foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million in grants to non-profits across the region, focusing on key areas such as education, housing, community betterment, and quality-of-life initiatives.
