MAD Global Strategy Group, the bipartisan public affairs powerhouse, is continuing its aggressive regional expansion with the opening of a new office in Pittsburgh. Leading the charge is seasoned communications executive Frank Buonomo, who joins the firm as managing director.
The move marks a significant deepening of MAD Global’s footprint in the Keystone State, connecting its operations across Ohio, West Virginia, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
Founded in Montclair by veteran strategist Mike DuHaime, MAD Global has rapidly scaled its presence since 2021. The decision to plant a flag in Pittsburgh is described by firm leadership as a “logical next step” in connecting state-level advocacy with federal strategy.

Professional sports: Senior roles with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, and Minnesota Wild.

Banking & finance: Most recently served as SVP and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Brentwood Bank, with previous experience at Dollar Bank.

Entrepreneurship: Founder of the Buonomo Group, a boutique PR and marketing firm.

By establishing a physical presence in Western Pennsylvania, the firm aims to offer clients specialized expertise in sectors where Buonomo is a recognized subject matter expert: sports communications and banking.
Buonomo’s appointment follows on the heels of other major moves for the firm, including the recent launch of a Washington, D.C. office led by federal expert Mimi Braniff. With active operations now spanning six key jurisdictions, MAD Global is positioning itself as a dominant bipartisan force in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest corridors.
