The Valley Hospital in Paramus has again been awarded Transcatheter Valve Certification from The American College of Cardiology (ACC) for its demonstrated expertise and commitment to treating patients receiving transcatheter valve repair and replacement procedures.
This recertification was given based on Valley’s ability to meet standards for multidisciplinary teams, formalized training, shared decision-making, and registry performance.
The Valley Hospital was initially awarded Transcatheter Valve Certification in 2023.
The ACC’s Transcatheter Valve Certification is an external review and certification process paired with established national clinical databases to monitor patient safety and real-world outcomes related to transcatheter valve therapies.
Hospitals that achieve Transcatheter Valve Certification learn best practices for implementing evidence-based medicine to support patient-centered decision-making. These hospitals track key performance metrics to better identify opportunities for improvement and patient safety.
The ACC provides medical care centers, such as The Valley Hospital, with a comprehensive suite of cardiac accreditation services designed to optimize patient outcomes.
Valley’s Structural Heart Program addresses structural heart disease or defects in the heart’s valves or chambers. Due to technological advances, complex structural heart disease can be treated with minimally invasive transcatheter valve therapies, which typically lead to safer, more effective patient care.
In November, The Valley Hospital added EggNest Protect system in the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, intended to improve workplace safety.
