Chamas, Stepeney promoted to vice president at Mercury

Madison Chamas and Jade Stepeney have been promoted to vice president on the New Jersey team at Mercury Public Affairs, the firm announced Monday.

Mercury Partner and N.J. Office Leader Michael Soliman applauded the announcement.

“Jade and Madison are a core part of our team, delivering valuable government relations, media, and digital insights that make a difference for our clients,” he said. “I’m proud to see their hard work rewarded as they step into vice president roles, and I know they will each continue to shine.”

Chamas specializes in government relations and public affairs. She supports a diverse portfolio of business, government, nonprofit, and political clients, providing strategic guidance on navigating complex policy landscapes, building long-term partnerships with stakeholders, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, and advancing their organizational goals.

Prior to joining Mercury, Chamas worked for Congressman Josh Gottheimer, where she developed and maintained relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and political partners, and coordinated campaign events throughout New Jersey.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The George Washington University and holds a Master’s degree from The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.

Stepeney is a communications professional with expertise in public and government relations; she manages projects for a diverse lineup of clients.

Stepeney connects clients to their communities, with experience in grassroots advocacy campaigns at the local and state levels. She leads projects with a people-first perspective to deliver intentional messaging with measurable results.

Prior to joining Mercury, Stepeney was an associate producer at News 12 New Jersey, where her work earned her a New York Press Award and New York Emmy Award nomination. She attended Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where she earned a dual bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science.

Earlier this month, Mercury announced that Juan Melli has been promoted to partner.
