Provident Financial Services, Inc., the parent company of Iselin-based Provident Bank, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Michael Perito as head of investor relations.
In this expanded role, Perito will oversee the company’s engagement with shareholders, equity research analysts and industry stakeholders. This appointment comes as Provident continues to leverage its position as a $25 billion regional banking powerhouse.
Perito is not stepping away from his current duties; he will continue to serve as senior vice president and head of Corporate Strategy. By bridging strategy and investor relations, Provident aims to ensure its long-term growth vision is more effectively communicated to the capital markets.
“Mike brings a deep understanding of the banking industry, capital markets, and investor communications,” Adriano Duarte, executive vice president and chief accounting officer said. “His experience and insight will help ensure that our strategy, performance, and long-term vision are clearly communicated.”
Perito joined Provident in 2025, bringing nearly 15 years of high-level financial services experience. Before making the move to Provident, he was a managing director at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW), where he was a leading voice in equity research for over 30 regional banks and fintech companies.
His background provides a unique “inside-out” perspective:
- Market Insight: Decades of experience analyzing bank-tech and regional bank performance.
- Strategic Execution: Leading Provident’s internal planning and value-creation initiatives.
- Academic Foundation: Holds a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University.
As of December 31, 2025, Provident Bank reported assets of $24.98 billion. Founded in 1839, it remains New Jersey’s oldest community-focused financial institution, operating over 140 branches across NJ, NY, and PA.
“Provident has a strong franchise, a clear strategic vision, and a long history of serving its customers,” Perito said. “I look forward to ensuring investors have a clear understanding of the company’s differentiated strategy and robust performance.”
