GalenusCare marks grand opening of national HQ in Mount Laurel

Galenus Precision Pharmacy, Inc., operating as GalenusCare, recently celebrated its official the grand opening of its national headquarters in Mount Laurel. The facility represents a significant expansion in advanced medication management services for hospice providers and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) nationwide.

The milestone event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local and state leaders, including State Senator Troy Singleton, Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, and representatives from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), which provided critical funding for the center.

GalenusCare’s mission centers on addressing the risks associated with polypharmacy—the concurrent use of five or more prescription medications. In the United States, this condition affects 42% of adults aged 65 and older, leading to a staggering daily toll:

  • 750 hospitalizations of older adults due to medication complications.

  • 400+ deaths resulting from preventable adverse drug events.

By utilizing advanced analytics and pharmacist-led interventions, GalenusCare aims to move away from “trial and error” prescribing toward a model of precision pharmacy.

The NJEDA’s support of the headquarters underscores New Jersey’s role as a leader in the intersection of health care and technology.

“Founders like Dr. Knowlton are essential to strengthening our innovation economy, creating good-paying jobs, and reinforcing New Jersey’s leadership,” Kathleen Coviello, NJEDA chief economic transformation officer said.

The company is led by industry veterans Drs. Calvin Knowlton (CEO) and Orsula Knowlton (president), who previously founded other successful health care ventures in the state.

“Our purpose is to shift the paradigm… to using science and advanced pharmacist practitioners to optimize medication combinations that are both personalized and precise,” Calvin Knowlton said.

“Our model integrates pharmacist collaboration and clinical insights directly into care team workflows, helping teams deliver safer, higher-quality care with greater efficiency,” Orsula Knowlton added.

The Mount Laurel facility will serve as the central hub for the company’s data-driven clinical services, supporting care teams across the country in identifying and preventing medication-related harm before it occurs.
