The skies over the world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk are set to ignite this May as the second annual Soar & Shore Airshow Presented by Visit Atlantic City returns to kick off the 2026 summer season.
Following a blockbuster debut last year, the event has shifted its dates to May 29–31. This strategic move positions the airshow as the unofficial “summer kickoff,” drawing crowds to the city’s beaches and casino resorts earlier in the season. The free, family-friendly spectacle will run from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
The initial lineup for 2026 features two of the most technologically advanced aircraft in the United States military arsenal:
-
USAF F-22 Raptor Demo Team: Widely considered the world’s premier air-dominance fighter, the Raptor will perform “impossible” maneuvers made possible by its thrust-vectoring engines.
-
USMC F-35B Lightning II Demo Team: This “stealth” variant is famous for its short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) capabilities, allowing it to hover over the ocean in a gravity-defying display.
“You would be hard pressed to find a more exciting kickoff to summer event anywhere than experiencing firsthand the world’s most sophisticated aircraft soaring over the boardwalk,” Show Producer Herb Gillen said.
Beyond the stealth fighters, the 2026 roster promises a mix of high-speed jets and vintage “Warbirds,” including:
- 177th Fighter Wing F-16C Fighting Falcons: Local favorites representing New Jersey’s own Air National Guard.
- The Soviet-made MiG 17F: A classic Cold War-era jet providing a historic contrast to modern tech.
- Aerobatic Thrills: Precision displays from Paul Bennet’s Wolf Pitts Pro and the heart-stopping “trust walk” of Wingwalker Sam (Samantha Tryggvason).
While the beach and Boardwalk remain free for general admission, those seeking a more elevated experience can purchase Premium Seating in luxury catered tents.
Pro-Tip for Fans: Tickets for these exclusive areas are expected to sell fast.
- Early Access: Email subscribers to Airshow Insights and Visit Atlantic City can grab tickets starting Saturday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m.
- Public Sale: General ticket sales open on the official show website on Tuesday, March 31.
“By moving the show to May, visitors can experience everything that makes our destination special—from our local restaurants to our casino resorts—while enjoying a world-class lineup of entertainment,” added Gary Musich, President and CEO of Visit Atlantic City.
