Clinton-based Unity Bancorp announced the appointment of Sara Sooy and Alfred Gaburo to its Board of Directors.
The new directors bring decades of combined experience across banking, finance, government relations, and community development.
- Sara Sooy joins the board with an extensive background in banking and public-sector leadership. Her expertise includes public company audit committee service, credit risk evaluation, commercial real estate finance, and fiduciary oversight. Currently serving as a Somerset County Commissioner, Sooy’s professional history also includes roles at Investors Bank and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. She holds an MBA in Real Estate Finance from Rutgers University.
- Alfred Gaburo contributes more than 30 years of experience in public affairs, strategic advocacy, and economic development. Throughout his career, he has represented major organizations in sectors ranging from healthcare and pharmaceuticals to transportation and environmental services. A former council president for the Raritan Borough Council, Gaburo is a Leadership New Jersey Fellow and has served on numerous institutional boards, including the Board of Governors at Saint Peter’s University Healthcare System.
