Former Super Bowl champion and real estate titan appointed to lead Hope for Children board

The Hope for Children Research Foundation, a Ramsey-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and children facing rare diseases and serious medical challenges, announced the appointment of two prominent leaders to guide its Executive Board of Advisors. Former Super Bowl champion and attorney Bart Oates and real estate developer Salvatore Frassetto have been named co-chairmen, signaling a new chapter for the organization as it marks over 40 years of service.

The pair brings decades of experience in community leadership and philanthropy to the foundation. In their new roles, Oates and Frassetto will spearhead efforts to expand the organization’s visibility, bolster fundraising initiatives, and provide critical resources to families navigating complex medical journeys.

Founded four decades ago with an initial focus on neurological and cancer research, the Hope for Children Research Foundation has evolved into a comprehensive support network. Today, the organization bridges the gap between medical research and direct family support, advocacy, and awareness.

The foundation’s strategic direction continues to be overseen by President of the Board of Trustees Michelle Oates and Executive Director and Trustee Meg Minassian. Their work is further supported by a dedicated Board of Advisors, including Dean and Gina Logan of Complete Roof Systems (CRS) and David Green, President of Results Advertising.

For Oates, the appointment is rooted in a desire to translate professional success into meaningful community support. “Hope for Children Research Foundation has spent decades helping families facing unimaginable challenges,” said Oates. “The work being done goes beyond research alone. It’s about providing hope, support, and compassion to families that truly need it.”

Frassetto, chairman of Saddleback Real Estate Developers, noted that the foundation’s dual approach—funding groundbreaking research while providing immediate care—is what drew him to the mission. “This foundation has built an incredible legacy over the last 40 years,” Frassetto stated. “Not only are they helping support research and awareness efforts, but they’re also helping children and families directly during some of the hardest moments in their lives.”

As the foundation continues to connect with medical professionals, donors, and volunteers, the addition of Oates and Frassetto is expected to enhance its reach across the country. By bringing together leaders from the worlds of professional athletics, real estate, and advertising, the organization aims to continue providing life-changing support to children facing the most difficult circumstances.
