Residents and business owners are gaining faster access to digital connectivity as Comcast announced Thursday that its massive network expansion project is now more than 50% complete.
The multi-town infrastructure project aims to bring high-speed Xfinity internet and Comcast Business services to more than 15,700 additional homes and businesses across Warren County.
Construction momentum is accelerating throughout the Greater Phillipsburg region, with work in Greenwich, Lopatcong, and Alpha nearing completion. Meanwhile, crews have finished half of the planned work in Phillipsburg, and efforts in Pohatcong are actively ramping up.
“Reaching this milestone in Greater Phillipsburg reflects the steady progress we’re making to connect more New Jersey communities to the technology they need to live, work and grow,” said Dan Bonelli, Regional Senior Vice President of Comcast.
The company expects the entire project to be finished by the end of 2026, with new addresses being added to the network on a rolling basis.
The expansion provides residents access to the full suite of Xfinity services, including high-speed internet, mobile, streaming, and smart home security. For local enterprises—ranging from startups to established firms—Comcast Business is offering tailored networking solutions, including cloud connectivity and secure, high-speed internet designed to help businesses scale.
Beyond infrastructure, Comcast is also bringing its Internet Essentials program to the area, which provides low-cost, high-speed internet options and affordable computers to eligible households. This effort builds on the company’s recent investments in Warren County nonprofits, which focus on digital literacy training and community-wide connectivity programs.
The Greater Phillipsburg project is part of a broader push by Comcast to expand its digital footprint in New Jersey, having already connected 43,000 additional homes and businesses across the state in the last year alone.
