Riker Danzig LLP has announced that Stephen Tasy has joined the firm as counsel within its Insurance and Reinsurance Group.
Tasy brings over 40 years of legal experience to the firm, including 35 years deeply rooted in the insurance sector. Drawing on his extensive background as a senior in-house executive, he advises clients on complex insurance coverage and litigation matters.
Before joining Riker Danzig, Tasy served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for MSIG North America (part of Japan’s MS&AD Insurance Group), where he oversaw legal and corporate governance operations across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
His distinguished in-house career also includes more than 12 years with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies—including a three-year post as regional General Counsel for Chubb’s Asia-Pacific operations based in Singapore. Earlier in his career, Tasy spent seven years handling complex civil rights and insurance litigation for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
Tasy earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Economics and Government, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University.
