Law firm Archer is proud to announce that partner Alex Paul Genato has been appointed vice-chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court for the 2026–2028 term, effective Sept. 1.
Having previously completed multiple terms as a committee member, Genato steps into his first term as vice-chair. The influential committee brings together members of the judiciary, the tax bar, taxpayer advocacy groups, and local, county, and state tax administrators. The New Jersey Supreme Court relies on the group to deliver expert, well-reasoned guidance on matters impacting the administration and review of state tax laws.
Genato concentrates his legal practice on local property taxation, eminent domain, redevelopment, and broader state tax matters. He possesses deep experience handling complex commercial and industrial property tax appeals—ranging from office complexes and corporate headquarters to manufacturing facilities and utilities—across New Jersey and numerous other states. He frequently advises clients on complex property liabilities, exemptions, and farmland assessment qualifications.
Beyond his committee appointment, Genato is deeply engaged in professional legal organizations. He is a former Chair of the Taxation Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Property Tax Committee within the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section. He is also widely recognized as a frequent speaker and authority on real estate tax appeals and property taxation topics.
