In a powerful display of community collaboration, team members from Harrah’s Resort, board members from the Street Love Foundation, and various regional partners joined forces on July 28 to package 60,500 nutritious meals in just two and a half hours.
The high-energy volunteer effort was held in partnership with Meals of Hope, which supplied 10,000 pounds of food—including oatmeal and rice-and-bean dishes—characterized by a long shelf life and AIB certification for safety and quality. The packaged meals are designated for local food banks and charitable institutions across New Jersey and Philadelphia, including Church by the Bay and the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.
“Giving back is part of who we are at Harrah’s Resort. Seeing our Team Members and community partners come together to pack more than 60,000 meals alongside Street Love Foundation is truly inspiring,” said Joseph Giunta, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. “We’re grateful to play a role in helping fight food insecurity and supporting our neighbors across New Jersey and Philadelphia.”
The diverse coalition of volunteers featured representatives from the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, American Legion Riders Post 352, Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, Church by the Bay, MorLove, the Philadelphia Do Gooders, and community members spanning Ventnor, Margate, and Longport.
