Marking its official entry into the airborne electronic warfare market, Parsippany-based aerospace and defense contractor Marotta Controls has secured two contracts supporting the U.S. Navy’s Next Generation Jammer – Low Band (NGJ-LB) Engineering and Manufacturing Development program.
The company received a direct award from prime contractor L3Harris Technologies alongside a subcontract win with CFD Research Corporation. Through the dual awards, Marotta will integrate its specialized actuation and patented power conversion technologies into critical subsystems for the NGJ-LB pod, including supplying the Turbine Speed Control System within the ram air turbine power generation assembly under the CFD Research agreement.
The NGJ-LB system is a cornerstone initiative designed to augment and eventually replace the legacy AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System aboard the Navy’s EA-18G Growler aircraft, leveraging advanced software and Active Electronically Scanned Array technology to disrupt and degrade enemy air defenses and communications.
