NorthStar Strategies, LLC announced that Taryn Boland has joined the firm in a dual leadership capacity as Director of Government Affairs and Executive Director of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey (ACECNJ).
In her new role, Boland will spearhead strategic government affairs and stakeholder engagement initiatives for NorthStar clients while managing day-to-day operations, advocacy, and member engagement for ACECNJ.
Boland brings an extensive background in public service and executive leadership to the Trenton-based firm. Most recently, she served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) from 2021 through 2026. During her tenure at NJBPU, she oversaw agency-wide enterprise operations, policy development, government relations, communications, and workforce modernization, while advising on statewide energy priorities and regulatory strategies. Her earlier public sector experience includes serving as Deputy Chief of Staff at NJBPU, roles with the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, and service in the office of U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr., alongside more than a decade with the Corporation for Supportive Housing.
“We are thrilled to welcome Taryn to NorthStar and ACECNJ,” said Joe Fiordaliso, Chief Executive Officer of NorthStar Strategies. “Her extensive leadership experience, policy expertise, and proven ability to build relationships and deliver results will strengthen our team and create tremendous value for our clients, partners, and ACECNJ members.”
Boland expressed enthusiasm for transitioning to the private strategic advisory sector, noting the firm’s focus on practical strategy and execution.
“NorthStar’s commitment to trusted relationships and meaningful results is what drew me to the firm,” Boland said. “I look forward to serving our clients while also working with ACECNJ’s members and leadership to advance the business interests of the consulting engineering profession and support the firms that plan, design, and deliver the infrastructure that powers New Jersey’s future.”
TJ Mann, Director of Government Affairs at NorthStar, also highlighted the collaborative fit: “She understands how to navigate complex challenges, build consensus, and deliver results, and I am excited to work alongside her in support of our clients and ACECNJ members.”
