Monmouth County is getting a freshly remodeled taste of fast-food favorite Wendy’s. Flynn Group LP, the largest Wendy’s franchisee globally, has announced the official grand re-opening celebration for its newly renovated restaurant located at 388 Highway Route 35 in Matawan.
The grand re-opening event is slated for Sept. 26, highlighted by a major giveaway: free Wendy’s for one year to the first 100 guests in line when the doors officially open.
The overhauled 2,595-square-foot location officially welcomed its first customers back on August 19, sporting a contemporary design engineered to enhance the diner experience. The updated interior boasts an open, welcoming layout with versatile seating options alongside a high-tech Coca-Cola® Freestyle® beverage dispenser for complete drink customization.
Beyond modernizing the dining space, the project has injected fresh momentum into the local economy, creating 45 new jobs across Monmouth County ranging from crew members to management roles.
“We’re excited to be back open in Matawan following this renovation,” Sal Barakat, director of operations at Flynn Group said. “The refreshed restaurant offers a more comfortable, updated space for guests to enjoy their Wendy’s favorites. Most importantly, we’re glad to once again serve the Matawan community and be part of their everyday routines.”
Grand re-opening details & giveaway rules
The official celebration on Sept. 26, will kick off with a high-stakes queue for early birds.
- The Prize: The first 100 guests in line will receive a card good for one free sandwich, salad, or breakfast item per week for an entire year.
- Key Guidelines: Participants must be present in line when the store opens at 10:30 AM and must be at least 16 years old. A purchase is required, and the offer is limited to one “first 100 card” per customer at the 388 Highway Route 35 location.
The restaurant operates daily from 8:00 AM to 2:00 AM, serving its full lineup of breakfast, lunch, and late-night options.
The Matawan location joins Flynn Group’s broader regional presence, which includes nearby Wendy’s restaurants in Tinton Falls and Old Bridge. Nationally, Flynn Group operates over 300 Wendy’s restaurants across seven states and Washington, D.C., as part of the largest restaurant franchise enterprise in the United States.
