TD Bank U.S. appoints industry veteran Hardeep Walia as head of U.S. Wealth

TD Bank U.S. has announced the appointment of Hardeep Walia as its new Head of U.S. Wealth. In this role, Walia will spearhead the next phase of growth, innovation, and client experience expansion across the bank’s wealth management division.

Walia brings more than 25 years of combined leadership experience in wealth management and technology to the position. He is widely recognized as the founder and former CEO of Motif Investing, where he spent a decade scaling a digital brokerage and investment management platform. Following Charles Schwab’s acquisition of Motif, Walia led Schwab’s Personalized Investing Engineering organization and managed enterprise artificial intelligence initiatives for the firm.

Reporting directly to TD Bank U.S. President and CEO Leo Salom, Walia will oversee strategies to deepen advice-led relationships, enhance digital investing capabilities, and build tighter integration between the bank’s core banking and wealth management services.

“Hardeep is bringing to TD a powerful combination of wealth management expertise, entrepreneurial leadership and technology innovation,” Salom said. “His ability to translate innovation into trusted, scalable client solutions will be vital as we grow our advice-led relationships…”

Walia’s background also includes senior leadership roles at Microsoft driving large-scale services businesses, alongside advisory positions with FINRA’s Technology Advisory Committee, Small Firm Advisory Board, and U.S. Bank’s Ascent Private Capital Management. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Yale University.
