Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development, Inc. (MEND) has received a $10,000 grant from the M&T Charitable Foundation to support its mission of development and management of affordable housing in South Jersey.
“MEND is a beacon of hope and support for many low to moderate-income households, and we are grateful for the M&T Charitable Foundation’s generous support, especially at a time when the demand for affordable housing in New Jersey has never been greater,” Eileen Wirth, president and CEO of MEND said. “This grant will make a meaningful difference as we work to maintain and expand access to affordable housing throughout South Jersey.”
The funding will enable MEND to continue expanding in-demand affordable housing solutions while keeping rent at below market-levels – easing the financial burden on residents and allowing them to afford a safe, decent home without having to sacrifice other necessities like food, clothing and health care.
“The M&T Charitable Foundation is proud to support MEND’s vital work in providing affordable housing opportunities,” Bernie Shields, regional president for M&T Bank in the Philadelphia and southern New Jersey region. “We’re committed to strengthening our communities, and partnerships like this ensure more families have access to stable, quality housing and the opportunity to thrive.”
