Kearny Bank announced it promoted Maria Garzone to the role of first vice president / deputy director of Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism, and Sanctions Compliance. In her new role, Garzone will work with senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure the bank complies with laws and regulations designed to combat financial crimes.
Garzone, who joined Kearny Bank in 2022, has advanced quickly within the organization. She began as vice president / assistant bank secrecy act officer before being promoted to second vice president / deputy bank secrecy act officer. A certified Anti-Money Laundering specialist, she is also a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.
