Integra LifeSciences appoints Dr. Raymond Turner as new chief medical officer

Princeton-based Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corporation announced the recent appointment of Dr. Raymond Turner as its new corporate vice president and chief medical officer. With over two decades of experience as a board-certified endovascular neurosurgeon, Turner will now lead the company’s global medical affairs and clinical development activities.

In his new role, Turner will oversee all clinical research, clinical trial operations, evidence generation, medical safety and communications. He will also continue his surgical practice, providing neurosurgical care to patients.

“Dr. Turner’s extensive medical and clinical experience and expertise will be significant assets to Integra as we strengthen our focus on building robust clinical evidence,” Mojdeh Poul, president and chief executive officer of Integra LifeSciences, said. “His proven leadership and passion for advancing safety and quality will help us continue to deliver innovative solutions and transform patient care for the millions around the world.”

Prior to joining Integra, Turner held senior leadership positions at major medtTech companies, including his most recent role as chief medical officer for Siemens Endovascular Robotics. He also previously served as a medical director at Cerenovus, a Johnson & Johnson MedTech company. His background also includes academic and clinical leadership roles, such as serving as the program director of the neurosurgery residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Turner received his medical degree from Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poland and completed his residency in neurological surgery and a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and has been involved in over 70 pre-clinical and clinical research studies.
