Axia Women’s Health introduces free AI technology for enhanced mammogram screenings

Axia Women’s Health is now offering FDA-approved artificial intelligence technology with every mammogram at no extra cost, the organization announced Tuesday.

Breast cancer affects approximately one in eight women in the U.S., but early detection increases the five-year survival rate to over 90%. AI-assisted mammography enhances traditional screening, offering greater accuracy and earlier identification of potential cancer.

The technology known as MammoScreen acts as a “second set of eyes” for radiologists, providing a dual-read approach to every mammogram. In retrospective studies, MammoScreen detected 38.5% of screen detectable cancers two years before diagnosis.

Through a partnership with Onsite Women’s Health, MammoScreen is now available across the Axia Women’s Health network, with multiple imaging centers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Indiana.

Axia Chief Medical Officer Richard Gates praised the added technology.

“Women deserve more when it comes to their health,” he said. “Too often, cost or access can stand in the way of lifesaving care. By providing this added technology at no cost across our many imaging centers, our goal is to break down those barriers and give women greater peace of mind with every mammogram.”
