A significant new experiential tenant is joining Rutgers Plaza with the signing of Bounce Air Adventure Park, a major indoor play facility. The park will occupy a 21,000-square-foot space, reinforcing the shopping center’s position as a family-friendly community hub.
The addition of the adventure park is part of a trend by Levin Management Corporation (LMC), which serves as the leasing and managing agent for the grocery-anchored property, to attract family-focused experiential retail.
Bounce Air Adventure Park, led by a regional retail operator, will feature a variety of active entertainment, including:
- Ropes course and climbing structures
- Ninja obstacle course and trampoline area
- Ball pits and mini basketball court
- Jungle gym with slides
The facility will also include dedicated areas for parties and group events, making it a full-service destination for celebrations.
“Experiential tenants like this bring tremendous energy to a shopping center,” Ed Vasconcellos, LMC leasing representative, who arranged the lease, said. “Bounce Air Adventure Park will be a wonderful complement to Rutgers Plaza’s existing retail, dining, and service lineup, and will further establish the property as a family-friendly community destination.”
Rutgers Plaza, anchored by Stop & Shop, attracts approximately 1.8 million annual visits. The center benefits from strong demographics, serving more than 277,000 people within a five-mile radius.
Matthew Harding, chief executive officer of LMC, emphasized the strategic shift: “These uses enhance the customer experience, strengthen property traffic, and align perfectly with how today’s consumers are choosing to spend their time and money.”
The property, located near Rutgers University, also hosts tenants such as Crunch Fitness and Dollar Tree, and recently completed updates including a newly built McDonald’s. Robert Elbaz of Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty served as the tenant broker in the transaction.
