Fulfill, a leading organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and food insecurity across Monmouth and Ocean counties, has announced the appointment of Kim Simers, as its new vice president of community impact.
Simers brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience to the role, focusing on public health, health equity, and community well-being. Her arrival signals an expanded, holistic approach by Fulfill to connect food security with broader health and social stability through strategic partnerships.
“Food security is foundational to the health and strength of our communities, and Kim understands that connection deeply,” Triada Stampas, president and CEO of Fulfill, said. “The causes and consequences of food insecurity range from health and education to employment. Kim’s collaborative leadership will help us grow and strengthen partnerships to create lasting community impact and ensure our neighbors have the resources they need to thrive.”
For over 40 years, Fulfill has spearheaded regional efforts to combat hunger. As the landscape of food assistance evolves, the organization is increasingly collaborating with healthcare providers, local municipalities, and grassroots organizations to address health-related social needs, connect residents to benefits, and provide resources for long-term stability.
Simers joins Fulfill after serving as assistant vice president of integrative health at CentraState Healthcare System. In that role, she spearheaded initiatives to advance health equity by integrating social needs into patient care, managing chronic and acute conditions, and building community-based systems. Her extensive background includes leading large-scale public health programs, such as community wellness initiatives, diabetes screenings, and CentraState’s comprehensive COVID-19 response plan encompassing outreach, education, and vaccine administration.
Earlier in her career, Simers served as vice president of strategic planning and business development at Shore Memorial Hospital, where she focused on assessing access gaps and forging collaborative community partnerships.
“I’m excited to join Fulfill at a time when the connection between food, health and community well-being has never been more crucial,” Simers said. “Fulfill has a history of meeting people where they are and responding to the needs of our community. I look forward to building on that work and helping strengthen the partnerships and programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.”
