The New Jersey Devils are set to host their annual Devils Youth Foundation Day this weekend on Dec. 13, when they take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Prudential Center in Newark. The event is dedicated to amplifying the impactful work of the Devils Youth Foundation and raising funds for programs that support youth across the state.
A major focus of the day will be the presentation of significant financial donations to key community partners:
-
The Foundation will present a check for $60,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Newark to support The READY Family Wellness Center and Clinic.
-
A donation of $50,000 will be given to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (an RWJBarnabas Health facility) for its KidsFit in Motion programming.
“Devils Youth Foundation Day is more than just a game – it’s a celebration of the youth of New Jersey and the amazing local community partners we collaborate with,” said Kate Whitman Annis, Executive Director of the Devils Youth Foundation. She added that the goal is to create even more meaningful experiences and bring the Foundation’s mission to life.
The event will feature extensive involvement from New Jersey youth:
-
Young athletes from Hockey in New Jersey will walk alongside Devils players upon arrival, and one member will serve as Junior Captain.
-
Zeyona Stokes, a RECORD HIGH program member, will perform the National Anthem.
-
New Jersey-based kids will fill several in-game roles, including junior photographer, organist, and PA announcer.
-
Intermission entertainment will include skates by youth participants from Hockey in New Jersey and the Dented Puck Blind Hockey team.
The Devils will also honor Christopher Javier, a certified EMT from Newark, as the Hero of the Game, and Kelly Worrell will receive the Campbell’s Hometown Hockey Hero Award for her work in the sled hockey space.
All funds raised throughout the night, including the 50/50 raffle and the sale of custom-designed shirts—created in partnership with players Jack Hughes, Luke Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, and Timo Meier—will benefit the Devils Youth Foundation.
Fans can also participate in a special online auction running through December 13, featuring exclusive player bags with autographed merchandise and one-of-a-kind collectibles from the team. On the concourse, activations will include a double-dutch routine by Foundation partner Jump Kids and a display of game-worn Devils memorabilia.
