Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is celebrating its 45th anniversary this month, commemorating nearly half a century as an East Coast gaming and entertainment destination. Since opening in 1980, the resort has continually invested in its future, culminating in a period of intense transformation over the past five years.
The anniversary highlights years of significant investment in the property. Harrah’s has refreshed its entire resort, including:
- Hotel Renovations: All hotel towers now feature new rooms and suites, with the Waterfront and Atrium towers receiving the most recent upgrades.
- Gaming and Nightlife: The casino floor has been modernized, and The Pool—famous for its tropical ambiance—has been refreshed. The resort also recently added the VooDoo Lounge, a new nightlife venue to complement the ongoing success of The Pool After Dark.
Harrah’s has solidified its reputation as a culinary destination, building a roster of successful celebrity-chef restaurants. Key performance statistics demonstrate their popularity:
| Restaurant (Opening Year) | Signature Dish Statistics |
| Gordon Ramsay Steak (2018) | Over 45,000 Beef Wellingtons sold. |
| Chicken Guy! by Guy Fieri (2022) | Nearly 500,000 chicken tenders sold. |
| Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay (2022) | Over 410,000 burgers and 79,000 shakes served. |
| Buddy’s Boardwalk Empire by Buddy Valastro (2024) | The newest Italian American concept from the “Cake Boss.” |
Guests are invited to join the celebration throughout November with exclusive promotions, including:
- Throwback Dining: On Nov. 22, four resort restaurants will offer select menu items at original mid-1980s prices. Highlights include Beef Stroganoff for $12.95 at Gordon Ramsay Steak and a crisp waffle for $3.95 at Coastal Craft Kitchen & Bar, paying tribute to former Harrah’s restaurants.
- Hotel Specials: Limited-time offers through Nov. 23 include 45% off room rates and a special $45 nightly rate (Sunday through Thursday).
- Casino Giveaway: A $5,000 Hot Seat Giveaway will take place on Nov.22.
- Nightlife: The Pool and VooDoo Lounge will host 1980s-themed events and play classic hits on Nov. 22.
The resort also took time to honor the people behind its success, including 45 “day one” Team Members who have worked at Harrah’s since its 1980 opening.
“For 45 years, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City has been woven into the fabric of this city,” Gregg Klein, senior vice president and general manager, Harrah’s Resort said. “This milestone is a tribute to the Team Members, guests and partners who’ve helped shape our story.”
Harrah’s and its sister properties (Caesars and Tropicana) also highlighted their strong community commitment, having contributed over 2,000 volunteer hours and donated more than $8.6 million through property giving in 2024 to support local causes.
