SJP Properties, the vertically integrated real estate developer, announced on Wednesday the appointment of Peter Welch as Investment Associate.
The strategic hire comes as SJP—which has developed over 25 million square feet of property during its 40-year history—continues to scale its development pipeline and expand its footprint across the New York/New Jersey region and key Southeast markets.
In his new role, Welch will join SJP’s investment and development team, focusing on the acquisition and execution of Class-A office buildings, high-end residential properties, and complex mixed-use projects. His arrival is timed to support the firm’s disciplined investment strategy during a period of evolving market dynamics.
“As we continue to grow our development pipeline and expand our presence across key markets, Peter will bring strong analytical expertise and transaction experience to SJP Properties,” Steve Pozycki, founder and CEO of SJP Properties said. “His background in capital markets, financial modeling, and execution aligns well with our platform and long-term investment strategy.”
Welch joins SJP Properties from Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as a Senior Financial Analyst on the Capital Markets team. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in the execution of multifamily and mixed-use transactions across the New York metro area.
His expertise spans the entire transaction lifecycle, including:
- Complex Financial Modeling: Underwriting and valuation for large-scale assets.
- Due Diligence Management: Coordinating the intricate closing processes for institutional investors.
- Strategic Marketing: Drafting offering memoranda and broker opinions of value.
Welch is a graduate of Duke University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Certificate in Markets and Management. He furthered his expertise at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, earning a Master of Management Studies.
