Vonage, a global leader in cloud communications and a part of Ericsson, announced a renewed partnership with Girls Who Code, the international nonprofit dedicated to closing the gender gap in the technology sector.
The collaboration aims to provide high school students with early, hands-on exposure to the “technologies of the future,” specifically focusing on network and communications APIs.
At the heart of this partnership is the Summer Pathways Program, an intensive virtual experience designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world tech careers. The program offers comprehensive curriculum tracks in high-demand fields, including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science
- Cybersecurity
- Web Development
- Game Design
Vonage will contribute both virtual and on-site mentorship, providing students with direct access to industry experts. These sessions are designed to help students understand how network-powered solutions function in a professional environment.
By integrating Vonage’s expertise in Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) and Network APIs, the program seeks to arm the next generation of “young builders” with the tools needed to lead in a digital-first economy.
“Enabling access to advanced technology education programs… is key to equipping the next generation of developer talent,” Neelam Sandhu, chief marketing officer at Vonage said. “We are proud to support programs that empower young builders with network APIs and communications APIs.”
Jackie Blizzard-Caron, vice president of Education for Girls Who Code, emphasized the importance of corporate mentorship. “We are grateful for [Vonage’s] support… helping students learn what a career in tech can look like and the opportunities available to help them define their career paths.”
Girls Who Code has already served over 760,000 students worldwide. This partnership aligns with Vonage’s broader mission under the Ericsson Group to lead the next era of digital transformation through AI-powered platforms and innovative customer experiences.
The Summer Pathways Program serves as a critical pipeline for diverse talent, ensuring that the future of software development and network engineering is more inclusive and representative of the global population.
