RWJBarnabas Health has earned Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC). The designation recognizes the health system’s consistency and excellence in delivering advanced cardiovascular care across its network.
The accreditation follows a rigorous onsite evaluation process that analyzed the staff’s capabilities to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients. The review encompassed all 11 of the health system’s cardiac catheterization laboratories, confirming the successful implementation of standardized, evidence-based clinical practices.
“Achieving system-wide ACC accreditation underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality cardiac care to every community we serve across the entire state of New Jersey,” Dr. Conor Barrett, chief clinical officer of RWJBarnabas Health Heart & Vascular said. “This coordinated effort sets RWJBarnabas Health apart as New Jersey’s premier destination for heart care.”
To achieve accreditation, participating hospitals must fulfill strict criteria spanning patient assessment, safety protocols, procedure-room coordination, and recovery-unit communication. These metrics are designed to reduce clinical variation, streamline care, and enhance safety outcomes for individuals experiencing complex heart conditions.
The 11 RWJBarnabas Health facilities that earned the individual ACC Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation include:
- Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville
- Community Medical Center in Toms River
