New podcast ‘From Underdog to Entrepreneur’ launches with NJ’s Pat Miller to share raw stories of resilience

Commercial construction business owner, entrepreneur, and best-selling author Pat Miller has announced the launch of her new weekly podcast, From Underdog to Entrepreneur: Building Dreams. The series is dedicated to celebrating the journeys of individuals who built extraordinary successes starting from humble beginnings.

The podcast will features Miller in candid conversations with fellow entrepreneurs, small business owners, creators, and innovators. The interviews offer raw insight, practical takeaways, and encouragement by exploring how guests overcame real-world challenges, navigated early failures, and discovered their driving purpose (“why”).

Miller, a true female trailblazer in the male-dominated commercial construction industry, based her own mission on her personal experience. She grew up as the youngest of seven children in a New Jersey family with limited means, starting work on her family’s farm stand at age five. Today, she is the founder and owner of Blue Diamond Construction in New Jersey.

“My mission is to help fellow underdogs achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. It’s not necessarily about doing more, but quitting what doesn’t serve you,” Miller said. “With this podcast, I want to help aspiring entrepreneurs confront the work they’ve been avoiding, shed the distractions that keep them stuck and find clarity in doing what actually leads to success.”

Miller’s own life story is a testament to the podcast’s theme of grit and perseverance. After spending decades as a successful woman in construction, she faced an emotionally and professionally devastating period, losing both her parents, her brother, and her husband/business partner, Ray, within three years. While caring for her family, she nearly lost her business as well.

Miller uses her own experience to prove that “no matter how hard it is, even if you are suddenly solo and restarting literally every part of your life, you can do it. And, it can work out for you even better than you ever imagined.” Her overall inspiration for the show is simple: “If I can do it, you can do it too.”
