Novo Nordisk, which has its US headquarters in Plainsboro, on Monday announced significant new pricing and savings offers for self-pay patients for its popular semaglutide drugs, Wegovy® (for obesity) and Ozempic® (for type 2 diabetes). These changes are effective immediately, bringing cost savings to consumers months ahead of the company’s commitment to the US Administration to expand access.
The new structure introduces an aggressive introductory offer and a sharp reduction in the long-term monthly self-pay price.
| Offer Type | Duration | New Price | Old Price | Applies To |
| Introductory Offer | First two months of therapy (through March 31, 2026) | $199 per month | N/A | New self-pay patients only; applies to the two lowest doses (0.25 mg and 0.5 mg) of Wegovy® or Ozempic®. |
| Standard Self-Pay Price | Beginning in the third month of therapy | $349 per month | $499 per month | All existing and new self-pay patients. |

Note: These prices apply to self-pay patients who are without insurance coverage or who choose to pay out-of-pocket.
“As pioneers of the GLP-1 class, we are committed to ensuring that real, FDA-approved Wegovy® and Ozempic® are affordable and accessible to those who need them,” Dave Moore, executive vice president, US Operations of Novo Nordisk Inc., said.
The new self-pay pricing will be available across multiple channels to ensure broad access:
-
Pharmacies: Patients can register for savings to be used at over 70,000 pharmacy locations nationwide.
-
Home Delivery & Telehealth: Prescriptions can be filled through NovoCare® Pharmacy for home delivery or picked up at over 9,000 CVS retail locations. The savings are also available through select telehealth providers and organizations, including Costco, GoodRx, WeightWatchers, Ro, LifeMD and eMed.
This initiative is also intended to help people afford the authentic, FDA-approved medicines, thus eliminating the “lure of risky, potentially unsafe, compounded ‘semaglutide’ knockoffs.”
For patients with commercial insurance coverage who qualify, Novo Nordisk continues to offer savings programs that allow them to pay as little as $0 per month for Wegovy® or $25 per month for Ozempic®.
