The historic Far Hills Race Meeting is gearing up for its 105th running at Moorland Farm on Oct. 17 bringing world-class steeplechase racing, new luxury tailgating options, and an exclusive collaboration with Barstool Sports.
As one of the premier sporting and social traditions in the Northeast, this year’s event features a combined purse of $825,000—surging back toward pre-COVID records and drawing some of the finest horses and jockeys on the circuit.
Highlighting the growing national popularity of steeplechase racing, race organizers announced an exclusive merchandising partnership with Barstool Sports.
The 10-piece “The Hunt x Barstool Sports” collection features tees, hats, and hoodies emblazoned with iconic event imagery and “The Hunt”—the legendary nickname generations of racegoers have given the annual tradition. Buzz for the line spiked after Barstool founder Dave Portnoy was spotted wearing one of the hats during a recent viral video review.
The collection will officially launch online on Oct. 1 and will be available at three merchandise locations across Moorland Farm on race day.
What’s new for the 105th running
- “The Knoll” Tailgating Area: Taking race-day tailgating to the next level, this brand-new designated area offers spaces that are double the size of standard infield spots (20′ x 20′) at the same $600 price point (including four general admission tickets). Knoll-holders also gain access to exclusive semi-private restrooms, family play zones, and simplified ingress and egress.
- Expanded Digital Wagering: Alongside returning partner 4NJBets, racegoers can now place live wagers directly from their mobile phones throughout the day using NYRA Bets.
- Elevated All-Inclusive Hospitality: Guests can choose between The Hunt Club (featuring a front-row view, food by Frungillo Caterers, an open bar with Double Cross Vodka, and a mechanical bull) or The Chairman’s Tent presented by Brown Advisory, which offers upscale dining and prime finish-line seating near the historic Race Tower.
- Curated Vendor Village & Food Trucks: Over 30 premier vendors—including Kendra Scott of Short Hills and Hans Clothier—will be on-site, alongside a robust lineup of popular food trucks such as Shake Shack, Cousins Maine Lobster, and the Empanada Guy.
Beyond the sport and spectacle, the Far Hills Race Meeting remains deeply rooted in regional philanthropy. Sponsored by Open Road Auto Group, the event has raised over $22 million for local healthcare throughout its history.
