How’s that for an all-star lineup of transportation experts and executives? And you won’t have to wait long to hear them: they’ll share one stage this Thursday.
The group, responsible for New Jersey’s most consequential highway, rail and transit investments, will come together Oct. 1 for the New Jersey Alliance for Action’s 24th Annual NJ Statewide Transportation Conference. (For registration info, click here.)
Recognized as one of the Alliance’s largest and most important member events each year, the conference will give attendees direct access to the decision-makers overseeing billions of dollars in infrastructure investment throughout New Jersey and the Northeast Corridor.
“This is the biggest day of the year for New Jersey’s transportation industry,” New Jersey Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan said. “And this will be your only opportunity of the year to hear from this group – the most important decision makers in our region. The speaker lineup reflects the scale and significance of the work underway across our transportation network.”
Thursday’s speakers:
- O’Toole, chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey;
- Jain, commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation;
- Kolluri, CEO of NJ Transit and executive director of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority;
- Prendergast, CEO of the Gateway Development Commission;
- Herrmann, interim president of Amtrak;
- Dougherty, executive director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
Together, the speakers represent agencies responsible for many of the state and region’s most important transportation systems and capital programs. Their work spans highways, bridges, passenger rail, mass transit and major regional initiatives, including the transformational Gateway Program.
“Transportation affects every part of New Jersey’s economy, and this conference brings the people making the most important decisions together in one room,” Keenan said. “Our members will hear firsthand what is being built, what is coming next and where new opportunities are being created.

The 24th annual conference continues a long Alliance tradition of connecting government leaders with the business, labor and professional communities responsible for delivering New Jersey’s infrastructure improvements. Members attend each year for timely information about capital programs, upcoming projects and potential contracting opportunities, and to build relationships with public- and private-sector leaders.
