Senior meal delivery provider Heart to Home Meals announces first New Jersey expansion with Somerset Development Deal

Heart to Home Meals USA is officially entering the Garden State. The company announced Tuesday the signing of a new development agreement in Somerset marking its third U.S. franchise deal and a significant expansion into the Northeast market.

The move comes as New Jersey sees a shifting demographic landscape. According to the company, the state was a primary target for expansion because nearly one in five residents is aged 54 or older, creating a surge in demand for services that assist with “aging in place.”

The Somerset County territory represents the brand’s first foothold in New Jersey. Heart to Home Meals provides chef-prepared, medically aligned meals specifically designed for the nutritional needs of older adults. Unlike traditional courier services, the franchise utilizes trained drivers who deliver meals directly into the home, fostering personal connections and providing an extra layer of wellness monitoring for seniors.

“New Jersey is a natural next step for us,” Chris Webb, president of Heart to Home Meals USA said. “We’re continuing to partner with individuals who share our commitment to making a meaningful impact in their communities and support the growing demand for services that help seniors age in place.”

Headquartered in the Boston area, Heart to Home Meals has already established a firm presence in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The Somerset deal follows recent successful franchise launches in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the Chicagoland area.

The company identified Central Jersey as an ideal market due to several factors:

  • Favorable Demographics: A high concentration of seniors living independently.
  • Health care Infrastructure: Proximity to world-class medical facilities and home-care networks.
  • Economic Stability: Strong demand for premium, health-conscious support services.

The franchise model aims to blend business performance with community service. By offering meals that cater to various dietary restrictions and medical requirements, the service helps seniors maintain their health without the physical strain of grocery shopping and cooking.

“Our presence in New England has demonstrated how impactful this model can be at the community level,” Richard Peroe, senior director of Franchise Development said. “We’re excited to bring that same approach to New Jersey.”

As the Somerset location prepares for its debut, the brand expects continued interest from prospective partners across the Mid-Atlantic region, viewing New Jersey as a gateway to further expansion throughout the state.
