The New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) hosted its annual golf outing at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, bringing together the largest gathering of food industry leaders in the event’s history.
Widely celebrated as the premier networking event for New Jersey’s food sector, the Aug. 17 gathering united executives, suppliers, and associates representing retail, manufacturing, distribution, and convenience sectors from across the state.
“We are pleased to host the premier industry golf event that exceeds our expectations every year,” NJFC President Linda Doherty said. “The camaraderie of the members at this outing is like no other food industry event.”
Highlights and on-course experiences
Participants enjoyed a day filled with specialized networking, sponsorships, and extensive product showcases. Highlights included:
- Sampling Stations: Featured new products from Consalo Family Farms, Desi Flavors, Nottingham Insurance, Spylt, and Starbakers.
- On-Site Food Trucks: Provided refreshments courtesy of Consalo Family Farms and Kayco.
- Goody Bags: Packed with healthy snacks and beverages contributed by NJFC retailers, suppliers, and partners.

The day concluded with a competitive tournament across Forsgate’s courses:
- Best Team Score (Banks Course): Inserra Supermarkets Team
- Best Team Score (Palmer Course): Mondelez Team (Jason Nunes, Rich Chamberlain, Rich Martino, and Alec Nunes)
- Longest Drive (Banks): Chris Brehm (Men) and Silvia Vera (Women)
- Longest Drive (Palmer): Alec Nunes (Men) and Lindsay Kelly (Women)
- Closest to the Pin (Banks): Joenil Garcia
- Closest to the Pin (Palmer): Greg Ilardi (Men) and Moira Huran (Women)
The NJFC currently represents nearly 400 companies and over 1,200 retail food stores, wholesalers, and manufacturers that collectively employ more than 200,000 workers throughout New Jersey.
