Spencer Savings Bank, one of New Jersey’s leading community banks, has awarded nearly $40,000 in scholarships to 26 exceptional high school students across the state, providing each recipient with $1,500 in college tuition assistance.
Since the inception of the bank’s scholarship program in 2002, Spencer Savings Bank has invested more than $700,000 in local students to help make higher education more accessible.
“As tuition costs continue to rise, community support is critical in making higher education accessible to students. At Spencer, we are committed to providing this support and removing financial barriers,” Jose Guerrero, chairman, CEO, and president of Spencer Savings Bank, said. “Our team had a wonderful time celebrating all the students at our annual scholarship ceremony last week. Congratulations to all the award winners!”
Celebrating Academic Achievement
Students representing school districts across Spencer’s market area were selected for the honor by their respective high schools’ guidance departments.
On June 24th, the recipients and their families gathered at the Spencer Savings Bank financial center in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, for an annual scholarship celebration. Attendees enjoyed a buffet dinner and had the opportunity to network and connect with the bank’s executive and senior leadership teams.
