Stacie Sherman, a longtime senior news leader at Bloomberg, adjunct journalism professor at The College of New Jersey and a leading voice in advocating for those with disabilities, has joined BINJE as a managing editor.
“We couldn’t be more excited,” founder Tom Bergeron said. “Stacie is a top-notch journalist and an even better person.”
Sherman will serve as both a reporter and editor at BINJE, joining Bergeron and Linda Lindner on a small but mighty editorial staff that has become the go-to source for New Jersey business reporting since its founding in the spring of 2025.
Sherman, who started on Tuesday, said she welcomed the opportunity.
“BINJE’s growth has been extraordinary, and I’m thrilled to help Tom and Linda take it to the next level,” Sherman said. “Their business model is thriving in a tough media landscape. When I see that kind of success, I want to be part of the story.”
Sherman, who lives in Mount Holly will allow BINJE to provide insight into the South Jersey region like never before.
“I’m thrilled to be able to help Tom and Linda expand their reach, particularly in South Jersey, where I live,” she said. “There are so many incredible stories to be told about this region, I can’t wait to share them.”
A lifelong New Jersey resident, Sherman started working for the Asbury Park Press/Home News Tribune as a statehouse intern while attending TCNJ and was hired by them after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.
In 1997, she joined Bloomberg, beginning a nearly three-decade career that saw her serve as a business reporter before helping to create and then lead a Statehouse presence for Bloomberg. She served as its Trenton Bureau Chief for 15 years. From there, she was promoted to a number of roles, include N.J. State Bureau Chief, Deputy Managing Editor for U.S. Bureaus and Senior Editor.
After leaving Bloomberg, she led communications for Autism New Jersey, a personal passion pursuit. Sherman, the mother of two on the autism spectrum, has written extensively on neurodiversity and disabilities, including a personal blog and a self-published book: My Broken Road: The Tangled and Twisted Musings of an Autism Mama.
Sherman, who earned a Master of Science in Business Journalism from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, is an adjunct journalism professor at TCNJ. She also is a board member of the N.J. Society of Professional Journalists.
