Iris Delgado, executive director, Middlesex County Democratic Organization, Barbara DeMarco, vice president, Porzio Government Affairs and Pamela R. Lampitt, Camden County clerk, will be honored at the Women of Achievement PAC reception, sponsored by the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey, June 12, in Trenton.
The WPC-NJ is dedicated to increasing the participation of women in the political process, increasing the number of women in elected and appointed office, protecting reproductive freedom, and creating a women’s political power base to achieve equality for all women.
The event will serve as a fund-raiser for the group’s efforts to support women running for office in the November election. (WPC-NJ endorsed 48 female legislative candidates in the 2023 election and provided significant contributions.)
Grace Strom Power, chair of the WPC-NJ, said bringing attention to women in politics can have great impact – and correct a stunning imbalance.
“While women comprise more than 50% of the state’s population, they currently hold only 33% or 40 of the state’s 120 legislative seats,” she said. “The Women’s Political Caucus of NJ is dedicated to increasing the number of women who hold elective office and increasing their involvement generally in the political process.”
Delgado, DeMarco and Lampitt are example of women who are having great impact and influence, Power said.
“We are very proud to honor Iris Delgado, Barbara DeMarco and Pamela R. Lampitt at our PAC reception,” she said. “All three of them are leaders in their professions and have demonstrated their support for the advancement of women.”
The PAC reception will be held from 4-7 p.m. at Cooper’s Riverview, 50 Riverview Plaza, in Trenton.
The event is being held in partnership with the Middlesex County Democratic Organization, Moxie Strategies, DEVCO and Porzio, Bromberg and Newman.
