ACG, with its North American headquarters in Piscataway, on Monday announced a significant expansion of its U.S. footprint today, unveiling a phased $200 million investment to establish its first empty-capsule manufacturing operations in the United States.
The initial $100 million phase will fund a new, state-of-the-art hard-shell capsule facility in Atlanta, Georgia. A subsequent $100 million phase is planned to further expand capacity and capabilities in the region. The project is expected to create more than 200 jobs, with operations targeted to commence in early 2027.
The Atlanta facility will feature dedicated manufacturing lines for both gelatin and vegetarian (HPMC) hard-shell capsules, all designed and operated to the highest global standards for quality and regulatory compliance.
Karan Singh, managing director of ACG, emphasized the strategic rationale behind the investment. “ACG has served North America for over 25 years. This facility strengthens our ties with customers across the region—bringing us closer to them, enabling faster lead times, higher-quality service, and a more resilient, de-risked supply chain,” he stated. He added that the local presence will also enable tighter R&D partnerships for new innovations.
Selwyn Noronha, CEO of ACG Capsules, highlighted Atlanta’s appeal, citing Georgia’s “pro-business environment, a strong talent pipeline, world-class connectivity, and reliable infrastructure” as key factors.
The new manufacturing site will complement ACG’s existing U.S. presence, which currently includes its North American headquarters in Piscataway, N.J., a liquid fill capsule manufacturing site in Chadds Ford, Pa., and a nationwide network of sales, service, and warehouse teams. The move aligns with ACG’s global strategy to expand capacity and ensure reliable supply for its partners worldwide.
