The UMC Foundation, underscoring its commitment to advancing innovative and compassionate senior care across New Jersey, has announced the appointment of three professionals to its Board of Trustees: Norris Clark, Layne Gordon and Lisa Kaufman.
Each new member brings a wealth of diverse industry experience and a unique perspective, expected to significantly strengthen UMCF’s thought leadership and expand its community partnerships in support of its mission to provide abundant life for seniors.
“Norris, Layne, and Lisa are qualified and outstanding additions to our Board,” Foundation Vice President Jim Roberts said. “Their wide-reaching experiences and skill sets will complement those of our longstanding Trustees as we continue to expand our fundraising initiatives and further our mission.”
The new Trustees bring expertise spanning communications, business strategy, and real estate development:

Norris Clark, a longtime advocate of impactful storytelling, is transitioning from his role as managing partner of Princeton Strategic Communications. As he enters semi-retirement, he will devote more time to volunteer pursuits reflecting his strong commitment to enhancing senior care and his personal faith.

Layne Gordon, head of Business Operations for Travel Plaza Media and president of Acme Funding, offers more than 30 years of experience in business consulting, legal practice, and entrepreneurial leadership. His personal experience navigating senior living options for his father-in-law deepened his appreciation for dignified care for older adults.

Lisa Kaufman, a senior project manager at Walsh Company and a LEED Accredited Professional, brings deep expertise in project management, having led complex construction and renovation projects for major firms. She was drawn to contribute to UMCF community in a meaningful way through a professional connection with Vice President Jim Roberts.
Mark Lenhard, UMC President and CEO, welcomed the additions, stating that having the Board “equipped with best-in-field guidance reaffirms our confidence that, together, we will continue delivering compassionate services and meaningful connections for the seniors we serve.”
The UMC Foundation secures critical funding to support residents with limited financial means and backs UMC’s housing, innovative health care, and community-driven programs.
