Squeeze balls, bag clips, ChapStick … chocolate chip cookies.
Which booth are you stopping at?
The ReNew Jersey Business Summit & Expo in Atlantic City drew hundreds of exhibitors, each trying to lure more than 1,000 attendees to their booth.
Brittany Corsi, a senior marketing coordinator at Withum, made sure her booth topped them all.
Thanks to an on-the-spot cookie machine, Withum didn’t just have cookies to give away — it had hot, freshly made cookies.
“Who doesn’t love the smell of freshly made cookies?” she said.
You come for the soft cookie, leave with a soft sell.
“We want people to come into our booth and engage in conversations with our professionals, which is exactly what’s happening,” Corsi said. “They smell the cookies. They come over here.”
To be sure, Withum had the usual tchotchkes — pens and Post-it notes — but the cookies were the differentiator.
“Standing out in a crowd is the most important thing when we’re at events like this,” she said.
So is reading the room.
Withum plans to attend an event tied to the motion‑picture industry later this spring. Corsi, however, won’t be bringing the cookie oven.
“We’re thinking about getting a popcorn machine,” she said.
