Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to a people-first culture, Bridgewater-based biopharmaceutical company Insmed Inc. hosted its largest-ever Global Day of Good. The milestone fifth annual event brought together more than 1,350 employees across the United States, Europe, and Japan to simultaneously volunteer in their local communities.
Launched in 2022 with 500 participants, Insmed’s signature day of service has expanded dramatically. This year’s initiative featured 50 distinct service activities benefiting over 50 nonprofit organizations globally. Over the past five years, company employees have accumulated approximately 15,000 volunteer hours supporting hundreds of community groups worldwide.
- Health, Education & Human Services: Volunteers focused on critical community needs, ranging from food and housing security to environmental stewardship and education.
- International Participation: While U.S. teams rolled up their sleeves domestically, international employees in Europe and Japan tackled unique regional projects—including translating children’s books, leading student wellbeing workshops, and refurbishing bicycles for individuals in need.
Here in New Jersey, hundreds of Insmed team members hit the ground running across multiple hands-on service projects:
- Boosting STEM Education: Volunteers gathered at the Whippany headquarters of Students 2 Science to assemble and prep STEM kits, fostering hands-on learning experiences for local students.
- Fighting Food Insecurity: Teams packed meals and essential food boxes for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
- Supporting Families: Staff partnered with Make-A-Wish New Jersey to put together care packages for children facing serious illnesses.
- Environmental & Community Care: Additional groups tackled local environmental stewardship projects, trail maintenance, and community support initiatives.
